On Anime and Manga!

So I lied! I posted a new comic in defiance of what I'd recently said, and if you can't trust a comic creator, who can you trust?

I think a little explaining is in order for this comic. This was originally intended to be a stab at and the comics that people make. I clicked a few random ones and didn't like what I saw. The general theme seems to be anime and manga. Now I used to be a huge fan of the stuff, used to watch it as much as I can, but it grew off me and I moved on to other things. The last anime I watched was the great Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan and Baccano. Nowadays looking at the latest anime releases the focus has shifted from good story and character development to moe (cute characters) and this p****s me off greatly. This is reflected in the Smackjeeves community and appears to be no great thing, as when the selling point of these comics seem to be guy love and wide eyed girls with panty shots and the power of friendship, and sprite comics (which I'll get at in a later comic), then there's a problem as creativity and possibly great things are tossed aside for safe and staple diets. The soup doesn't get thicker if all you add is water. The point of this comic is to simply take the mickey out of the watered down samey stories that are being spawned in anime, and it doesn't look like it's going to be stopping any time soon. Don't get me wrong. There are some gems out there on Smackjeeves and just a little digging will help you find them.

As for the Japanese? I learnt Japanese and used to be able to read/write and speak/listen, but that was years ago. This comic had to be translated from google translate so if it's wrong, don't blame me. I honestly enjoyed making this comic more than my other ones though. And for you non Japanese speaking I'll be putting an english version up tomorow so you can enjoy it. For the time being. Feel confused and scratch your head at this perversion to comics and humour. And remember. Row row Fight da powa!
